EPISODE 43

This is 43! Presence, Embodiment and Gratitude

This week I’m celebrating Thanksgiving and my 43rd trip around the sun with presence, embodiment and gratitude.

Each year I challenge myself to find a focus word for myself to seek throughout the year, and this past year’s word for me was “connection”. I’m happy to say that I was able to connect on so many beautiful levels in my 42nd year – I connected with my kids, my husband, my clients, my business, my healing, and my highest self.

Now coming into this next year of life, I’m drawn to the word “embodiment”, which highlights being present in the body, understanding ourselves sensually, and recognizing that we have all that we need.

I want to show up from a place of enoughness, because when we show up in that place and we recognize that we’re bountiful as we already are, we open up the most beautiful parts of ourselves. I’m going to commit to practicing embodiment and getting to know myself on a deeper level regardless of how uncomfortable the process may be.

Overall I’m incredibly grateful for where I am at my 43rd year and in celebrating this week of Thanksgiving. I have gratitude for so many things – I have two healthy kids who know who the freak they are, I have a loving husband who sticks by me, I have a thriving business and ride-or-die in the practice, I have continued opportunities presenting themselves everyday, and I consistently get to show up and do what I love. I’m also profoundly grateful for the deep healing that I have allowed myself to grow through throughout my life, because here’s the deal, my loves:

when we’re intentionally grateful, regardless of the trials and tribulations, we energetically attract more of what we desire.

While this season can be hard for many and hardships can weaken our gratitude, it’s crucial that we practice that intention. If you find yourself in a space of gratitude struggle this season, I want you to give this a try:

  • Notice what it is that you’re longing for in your life. Is it a romantic partner? More friendships? A dream job? Financial security? Take time to list whatever it may be for you.

  • Identify your reason for why you want this thing. Pinpoint the specific feeling that you’re seeking through it.

  • List out all of the ways that you have this thing fulfilled in your life already. If you’re calling in a partner for more love or security, think about who else in life shows up for you and makes you feel those things. If you are seeking a wider community because of wanting to feel connected, think about the areas in your life that you’re already able to connect with. Do you feel connected to God? Do you feel connected to your body? Do you feel connected to your friendships? Do you feel connected to your children? If you are seeking financial abundance, think about all the ways that abundance has shown up for you, even if it was finding a penny on the street. Brain dump all of the ways that you already feel that thing.

We have this beautiful power to choose what we give our attention to.

When we choose to give our attention to the things that are good in our world right now, even if we're in the shittiest of circumstances, we're giving ourselves a break mentally and emotionally. When we focus on positive things, we create positive thoughts and we release positive feel-good hormones, which we label as positive emotions in the body. We have the power to choose.

I’m so excited for what this next year will bring, and if you’re with me, consider setting your own intention. Think about highlighting the enoughness inside of you right now, finding presence and gratitude, and unleashing even more of your truest expression. The possibilities are endless for us, mamas.

Take care of yourselves and therefore each other!
