EPISODE 127
You Keep Chasing Enough, But It's A Moving Target
What if the tightness in your chest, the overwhelm in your brain, and the crushing weight of your to-do list aren’t symptoms of failure — but signs that the life you’ve built no longer fits who you really are?
You’ve done everything right. You built the life, climbed the ladder, color coded the calendar, and collected the gold stars. Yet you still wake up tired and go to bed wondering why you feel behind. Gratitude journals are stacked on your nightstand, but the gnawing pressure does not care about your nice intentions. It sits on your chest, tightens your jaw, and whispers that if you just do a little more, look a little better, be a little faster, then peace will finally arrive. Spoiler alert. It never does.
Here is the uncomfortable truth. The pressure you feel is not coming from your calendar, your boss, your kids, or the economy. It is coming from the silent agreement you made to be responsible for everything. You took on the emotions and outcomes of your family, your team, your clients, and your community because somewhere along the way you learned that being needed equals being worthy. That belief might have earned you praise, promotions, and the illusion of control. It also stole your energy, hijacked your creativity, and disconnected you from your own truth.
This is why success can feel like starvation. You keep feeding the role and starving the woman. You sprint toward a finish line called enough, only to watch it move the second you get close. Your brain loops on do more and be better while your body quietly begs you to slow down. That urge to push while having zero energy to back the plan is not a personal failure. It is a nervous system waving a bright red flag. When you are spun up in pressure, your intuitive channels dim. The messages you most need to hear bounce off the anxiety and ricochet into the void.
So what shifts it. Not another productivity hack. Not a prettier planner. Not a fresh round of self criticism. The shift begins when you stop solving problems nobody asked you to solve and give people back their stuff. It deepens when you practice transitions. Three slow breaths between meetings. A brief walk after school pickup. A two minute pause before you say yes to the next request. Regulate first, then think. Feel what you are feeling, let the wave move, settle your system, and from that quiet place ask the real questions. What do I actually want. What matters most right now. What am I ready to set down.
You do not have to blow up your life to change it. You do have to tell the truth. The truth that you are done performing worthiness. The truth that you are allowed to build a life that feels like yours, not a collage of other people’s expectations. The truth that a woman in her alignment is not only more peaceful, she is wildly powerful. When you reclaim the energy you spend hosting pressure and pour it into the few things that actually matter, you become creative again. You become present again. You become you again.
Ready to hear the full wake up call. Listen to You Keep Chasing Enough, But It’s a Moving Target. Take it in while you walk, stretch, or sit in the car before you go inside. Let it crack the spell of proving and invite you back to your own center.
If you want support to make this shift real, come into LEGEND. Extraordinary Life, Unperfected is a 16 week experience for high achieving women who are done with pressure and ready to live from power, presence, and truth. Registration is open now. Say yes to the life that actually fits.
