You’re Not Tired, You’re Trapped: The Real Reason You’re Bitter
Ever looked at your calendar and thought, “How the hell did my life become a series of obligations I never actually chose?”
Yeah. Me too.
Here’s the truth that hit me—and I’m handing it to you straight: you’re not just tired. You’re trapped. Trapped in roles you didn’t consciously choose. Trapped in expectations that were handed to you before you could even ask yourself what you actually want. Trapped in a performance of being the “good mom,” the “supportive partner,” the “helpful friend,” the “perfect boss.”
And the price you’re paying? Energy. Creativity. Vitality. Joy.
It’s not that you don’t have enough time. It’s that you’re leaking energy all damn day. Saying yes when your body screams no. Doing things out of obligation because somewhere along the line, someone told you it made you a better person. Nodding and smiling when all you want to do is scream. Overgiving. Overfunctioning. Over it.
Here’s what I’ve learned—and what I teach every woman I work with:
You don’t need more energy. You need to stop giving it to the wrong things.
We’ve been brainwashed to believe that self-care is selfish. That taking time for ourselves is indulgent. That being tired is just what it means to be a good woman these days. But babe, that’s a lie. A tired woman is a disconnected woman. And a disconnected woman can’t hear her own truth. She can’t create. She can’t fully love. She can’t rise.
Self-care isn’t a bubble bath. It’s a boundary. It’s saying no to the bullshit so you can say yes to your body, your soul, your wildness, your you-ness. When you live from that place, from overflow instead of depletion, people feel it. Your kids feel it. Your partner feels it. Your business feels it. Hell, even the checkout lady at Target feels it.
You start showing up as a woman who’s grounded in herself. You’re no longer performing or pretending. You’re living. And that version of you? She’s magnetic AF.
And listen—this isn’t about flipping a switch and going full rebel overnight. You’re human. You’ve been conditioned to believe your worth is tied to how much you give. I get it. That’s why we take baby steps. One small no. One moment of truth. One deep breath into the earth. One shake, one dance, one second of feeling your own damn heartbeat.
Every time you choose authenticity over performance, you call your energy back.
That’s what I talk about in this week’s podcast episode, “You’re Not Tired, You’re Trapped.” It’s a live, raw convo about the real reason so many women are feeling burnt out, disconnected, and done. It’s a reclamation of energy. A call to truth. And a reminder that you were never meant to be everything to everyone. You were meant to be you—unfiltered, uncaged, and unperfected.
So if you’ve been running on fumes, feeling resentful, second-guessing yourself, or just trying to survive your own damn life—I made this episode for you.
And if it hits you in the gut like I think it will—share it with another woman who needs to hear it. We rise together.
Take care of yourself and there for each other!
